Today I want to share some of my recent crochet projects.
This peacock feather blanket is my first design project. I wanted to make a blanket like I'd seen that was covered in just the feather motif. But after making about 10 of the feathers I realized I couldn't make enough with out going nuts, lol, so I came up with this design.
The original feather granny square was shown by Nadia at Yarnutopia for one of her 365 days of granny squares video. I believe this is the original pattern.
I had to change the final 2 rows of the pattern to a traditional granny stitch for 2 reasons, I could not get my square to end up square and I wanted it to match the other squares better.
On our recent trip to Kentucky I made a few projects in the car.
First up is this Joy hat from Inside Out. I've made 3 or 4 hats so far and they always end up too big even following a pattern, don't know why. Emily loves her hat so that's all that matters.
No one knew what this was when I showed it off. Can you tell?
It's an instant camera. It's a satchel type bag. I changed the strap from the original pattern hoping it would have less stretching when it's used.
And finally, I made this cute owl. It is supposed to be an apple cozy, I turned it into a stuffie by stitching the top and bottom together and filling it with fiber fill.
