Would you ever guess Wednesday with Erica's craft room

Today's project is a continuation of pages for my scrapbook page from Monday's project for Imagination Monday's with Erica's Craft Room design team. So if you missed it, scroll down and check it out, I'd love to hear what you think.

So, this is the back of that same page, I've started a new thing trying to make my scrapbooks thinner, by flipping over the paper when possible and creating the next page right there.

I used the Best Friends cartridge again for the pattern of the words. Splash and Just Chillin. They came from the Create a Critter phrase keys. Splash is with the octopus on page 41 and Just Chillin is with the penguin on page 39. Recognize the frame around the page? Yup, it's the negative from the piece I used on the front of the paper. ;) smart huh?

Here is what the page looks like, that is my sister and her daughter in the water, just enjoying and and trying to find good shells. The Family Fun title I welded on my gypsy using the Cricut font cartridge and cut from the real red paper and the frames for my sister and niece are also red. The cloud is the same as the one from the other side of the paper and filled with the Best Friends pattern.

I added stitching around the main edge of the 12 by 12 and inside the cutout.

The bottom pictures are of my mom and adorable daughter having at blast with her first trip to the beach and then sitting with her Uncle trying not to fall asleep.

The adorable starfish are again filled from the Best Friends cartridge. I find that when I get a new Imagine cartridge it lives in my machine until I get a new one. Unless I find a particular project requires it go back in it's box. Sorry for that tangent, The starfish are cut form the accessory feature from page 41.

Imagination Monday

Today I decided to pull out a few pics that need to be on a scrapbook page and design around them instead of just making up a page.

This is from last summer during our family vacation. My sister and her family come here one year and the next we go up there so this was our vacation here and we went over to the west coast to my Aunt's house and had a fabulous time at the beach.

I used Elegant Edges for the large pink background piece, this is one of the main reasons I wanted this cartridge, I love these big pieces but hate to pay the price for them in the stores. Now I can make my own, among other things...

I used red paper (real red from SU, my fav red paper) then layered the picture of my daughter with dark purple to match her bathing suit. There is black stitching around the red frames and the pink background piece and white stitching around the purple frame.

The adorable sun is from Create a Critter, I used the Best Friends Imagine cartridge to fill the pattern on the pieces. I splayed out the layers so the edges all show. I used a scrap piece of pink paper I had on my desk to put behind the cheeks and mouth. There are foam squares between each layer on the sun. The picture above shows you the dimension.

The title is also from Create a Critter and filled with the Best Friends Imagine cartridge.

I added little twine bows to the title. The cloud is a base image from the Imagine and filled with pattern from the Best Friends Imagine cartridge.

A little hint for storing the adorable twines we are all aquiring

My local scrapbook store closed, which is still a very sad thought for me, I loved the girls there and will miss them dearly. But I got some amazing stuff during the closing sale. Among this was a lot of twine. I found some wooden spools online and that took care of the big lengths but I still had all of these colors that needed tending to. The spirelli technique popped into my head along with embroidery floss card boards. So I decided to create a combination of the two.

I started with plain white card stock and cut the ovals 2 times the amount of colors I had the reason being I wanted the stability 2 pieces would provide. So to start, I sandwiched the end between the two cut pieces.

and began wrapping, and wrapping and wrapping

and wrapping and wrapping...

at the end of the piece I used a small piece of clear tape to secure it.

P.S. do you LOVE my nail polish? it's this new gem line from sally hansen, I love it. The coverage is amazing, it's a clear base loaded with glitter, this is just 2 coats! Get some, you'll love it!

Creative Kuts Build A Project for this week

Here is my envelope and card made from the file I was sent. If you don't know about this please visit the facebook page here check on Mondays to see what the file is then email Gina@creativekuts.com with the subject Build a project and they will send you the file. The rules are you must create the project and get it posted before 5 pm on Sunday to be eligible to participate the following week.

This will be for my little Peanut, she loves her lollipops and was very upset when I bought the bag that she couldn't have one right then.

The surprise here is the card contains a heart lollipop.

The cool part is the slits are part of the design, they think of everything. I just love the designs they come up with. So much fun.

I sometimes forget to post my projects here because they get posted on facebook. the little mailbox was the project from last week. So cute and perfect for a lot of themes I think.

These lollipops are an order I've got requesting Valentine's treat's for her daughter's little friends. They are getting the same heart lollipops and I just cut 2 1/2 inch circles from the green and heart pattern then cut 1 3/4 inch circles from the pink paper. The pattern paper is the back and I used regular glue to adhere the circles to the wrapper. The pink paper has a heart on it and I filled it in with glitter glue and tied a cute pink bow on the stick. I think they are really cute.

Here is my little Peanut, er froggie tonight, she built a tower with her ABC blocks and was super proud asked me to take a picture, as I clicked she said ta da! So cute!

Imagine Monday

I finally got the Best Friends cartridge and was super excited to have it in time for this weeks' project.

Everything on these 2 pages is printed and cut from the Imagine. I saved the pieces from the center of the picture frames to use as journaling blocks or for other photo mats. So sorry for the mediocre photos I'm not sure what the best way to take pictures of my scrapbook pages is.

'Loving this cartridge even more after playing with it. I also just got the Elegant Edges cartridge too, so be on the look out for future projects with these two cartridges.

The wing on the bird on the above page is popped up with foam tape and the tulips are popped up in the picture below.

I of course had to add some twine, I used pink and yellow to tie the bows above the journaling blocks to make it appear they are hanging. There is also glitter glue in the center of the flower strips matching the color.

I'm thinking this needs something else, any suggestions? I'll pick someone's idea and that person will get a special gift from me. Just as a thank you for reading my blog.

I made 2 cards this month using Hoot N Holler, Kate's ABC's and Songbird

This is a close up of the front of the card, my cute little purple owl and her funky green google eyes.

Here is my owl inside the card, he is posted on a action wobble spring. So much fun, you flick his foot or wing and boing! away he wobbles. So much fun! His yellow eyes and orange glittered feathers are too fun. I left a layer off of him because I liked him this way better.

Here is the front of my card. The card is 6 by 6. The H and second O are popped up of foam tape.

My Queen bee card is my favorite, it's also 6 by 6 and I've got the adorable label behind the bees cut from the Songbird cartridge in the fabulous glitter paper. I'm in love with the twine, I'm getting a good collection of some good colors so you'll be seeing a lot of it.

inside the card I cut the phrase really big and put it at an angle to make it look like the bee is weighing it down.

Marshmallow fun with my silly girl

I made some pages with some files from Little Scraps of Heaven

I made the turtle sit with her legs crossed, the valentines from these pages were a 12 by 12 sheet of scrapbook paper I bought, sorry I don't have the strip to tell you where it's from.

I enlarged the turtle's shell and her scalloped heart to make the frames for the pages as well.

The strip of paper is just a pale green I used to break up the teal. I love this color of paper so much! I use it a lot. For this frame I put the smaller heart inside the scalloped heart on my MT screen and viola! A frame

Here I used the inside of the frame and created a tree top and then cut 2 birds from scraps to go with the cuckoo valentine

Here is the close up of the bird and below of my little turtle, aren't they too cute!

Emily's nickname is Peanut so when I saw this file I HAD to get it. Pay no attention to the mishap on the heart, no joke, I tried to cut it 5 times and finally didn't want to waist anymore of my glorious glitter paper so I just had to go with it. I left off the hat because she needed a flower in her hair. I cut her from blush card stock then used 2 different colors of colored pencil to make lines to mimic the lines on a peanut the best I could. Her shoes are glittered paper too.

Then, I stepped back and realized I needed more on these pages, so I added Sweetheart to this page, it's from the Once Upon a Princess Cricut cartridge, I used the Best Friends Imagine Cartridge to fill in the pattern.

And on this page it had to have a title so I added Peanut I love you. Again the pattern is filled in from the Best Friends Imagine cartridge. The font is from the Cricut font cartridge. The I heart you is from the same cartridge.

I also made a few valentine cards as well, this is a fun fold for cards, the matchbook I guess you'd call it. It's an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper cut at 4 1/4 on the 8 1/2 side then score at 1 1/2 then at 7 if I remember correctly.

Here's the front of the cards, I wish I had the sizzix die of the clock hands now, would have been cute to put a real spinner on the front of the card.

Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe,

But this guy has pictures to prove his story...

I've heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this...

Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat.

"Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us. We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed.

I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals onto the boat. In all my years fishing, I've never seen anything quite like it!

Once onboard, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering."

We headed for Taku Harbour . Once we reached the dock, the first
Buck that we had been pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back as if to say 'thank you' and disappeared into the forest.

This is me carrying the little guy.

My daughter, Anna, and son, Tim, helped the last buck to its feet. We didn't know how long they had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive. My daughter later told me that the experience was something that she would never forget, and I suspect the deer felt the same way as well!"

Baby it's cold outside- green scrapbook pages challenge

Well, another sideways picture, I don't understand, I used to be able to get the pics on right, when I upload it , it's laying like it should, when Blogger opens it, it's sideways...sigh

So, super simple layout, some inking on the edges of the paper and some beautiful glittered snowflake stickers and black photo corners.

The title is cut from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge and mica flakes were added to the word cold. You can find this phrase on page 42 of the handbook.

WYEGW, Would you every guess Wednesday

I used the Once Upon a Princess cartridge to make my card today. We are to only use the function keys on this challenge, so I used the tag key on page 76, the pink one to make the clouds.

The rain drops are the gem key on page 74, I used the blue on and the purple one. I needed a few faces and a few regular drops.

Then I used the One of a Kind phrase. I tied a bow with my wonderful gorgeous twine, just love this stuff. An google eyes to the one rain drop.

I'm tickeled with this card. It fits in a standard business sized envelope.

Imagine Monday

Today is Imagine day over at Erica's Craft Room. The design team has got a great list of projects for you today, make sure you head over there after checking my cards out.

These cards were made using the Imagine More Cards cartridge

I printed two of the folder pieces then printed the other layers separately. I scored the top of the folder tab then glued the tabs together. I glued the pink layer and the white layer flat then used some foam squares to adhere the word "little"

For the rose card I printed 2 of the main pieces again then cut the other layers. The 2 main layers are adhered with a glitter lime green brad, I then used foam squares to put the other layers together.

I changed the inside layer to the school paper pattern to make a place to write a note.

These will make great gift enclosure cards, I think. I love the colors, so pretty and springy.

Scrapbook Challenge- use purple

Today the design team is to use purple on a scrapbook page or make a love or wedding theme.

I've been hoarding these Stampin' Up papers because they are so gorgeous and have been afraid to ruin them. I think I did them justice. I am pleased with this layout.

I used the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge cutting the frames at 5 inches, the E is cut at 3 and the owl is cut at 4 inches.

I used the same technique as did on my Hello Kitty page a few posts down, the green strip is the back side of the purple flowers. I cut a 1 1/2 inch strip from another piece and glued it on top of the seam. I like how it turned out, looks pretty fancy.

The flower is from my stash of flowers that the manager at Joann's lets me scrounge off the floor, I know it's pitiful but I can't afford the prices on the silk flowers these days. I used some purple twine to tie the frames.

My beautiful owl; she has a hunter green layer and the "color' of her eyes is the hunter green. I cut an extra eyelash piece and chest feathers from the dark purple and used a tiny hole punch to cut dark purple irises. I used the heart from her chest piece and made it her beak.

I tried and tried and tried to get this picture to lay the correct way so tilt your head to the right please so you can see it. lol

LOVE this glittery paper, I started with the two pieces and cut them in half. I taped them together on the back to create a full 12 by 12 sheet again. Then comes the cutting...

I used the Rock Princess cartridge for this project. Since it's WYEGW I used the phrase key, I cut a 6 by 6 from the teal and the black and placed them side by side on my cutting mat, I then cut the phrase at 5 inches. I used a peachy orange to cut the layer for the bow.

The photo mats are pink whitewashed or distressed, sorry not sure the correct name but if I would have ripped it there would have shown a dark pink core, very cool but not right for this page.

Happy Birthday Owl

This is the Build a Project for Creative Kuts, I altered the owl a bit, her eyes are missing a layer and I used liquid pearls for the twinkle.

The owl is from the bag file and I just love him! I cut his belly piece twice to get the cream center instead of an open space for the bag.

I used foam dots to pop her beak, arms and heart up. I used copics to line the edges and make her toes stand out. I love the glitter eyes.

Creative Kuts- Tea for Two card

This was the build a project kit from two weeks ago. It's taken me a bit to get it done because I have been pretty sick and had to move. So here it is and I love it!

It is a pop up card. When it's open it sits flat and the adorable tea pot is greeting you and making you smile.

Here is the side view. I used foam squares to adhere the pocket making room for the tea bags.

The card is 7 by 4 3/4 and is about 1/2 an inch thick. I love layers and this one was really fun to keep adding to.

Little Scraps of Heaven card sketch challenge

I used a 6 by 6 card for my base, the green square is 4 by 4 and I used my scallop border punch to do the edges, then I cut 3 pieces of purple twine and knotted one end. After gluing them down I covered the knot with the pink heart. The cut file is the Valentine cupcake, which happens to be the free file right now.

Yet another Pinterst idea. Emily has announced that she doesn't like the big crayons, she needs little ones. SO, I was actually happy about this because I could put to use yet another Pinterest idea. This also brought on a trip to Joann's (darn right ;), such torture) I was in luck! The exact pan I was looking for and at 40% off too!!

Emily and I gathered all of her big crayons and the icky ones we have brought home from various kid's meals and we began peeling and breaking, note the intense concentration and use of all muscles to break this big crayon

Success and she could see herself! Such a silly girl!

Next we placed several crayons per section and she made sure to put her OCD to work and place them perfectly in each cavity. :)

Next, a little spa trip for our waxy friends, after they were melted I added more crayon pieces to make them more even, not all crayons are created equal so you will have to play with this a bit. Also we discovered the wax likes to settle at the top of the crayon so what will ultimately be the actual top ends up quite lovely because all the color settles to the bottom of the mold.

But, they work and she liked them and I think I will be making Valentines cards with cute heart crayons on them!

Wanted to share this, she insisted I sit by her on the way home from dinner so I sat in the back seat, allowing the Hubby to pretend he was driving a lovely rich woman and her charming daughter home after a nice evening out. lol, the tip was a dream too

Anyway, sorry got carried away in the dream, but my Angel girl wanted to hold hands and we sat this way for most of the ride home. She is my world and can't remember what I did with my time before she came along.

Pinterst project

Here is another Pinterest project. I remember these from my childhood, I had a few that my grandmother made for me.

Emily was looking with me at the boards and saw a lovely blue octopus and excitedly told me she needed one!

So the next day we went to Joann's and I let her pick out some yarn and we came home and made her first octupi. She named the orange one "Sweety" and the pink one is "Sweetheart" lol, just love my child, can you guess her most heard nick names?

Pink & black scrapbook page

Today's challenge was to make a scrapbook page using pink & black. Of course Hello Kitty was my first thought and Emily loves her so I will be sure to find some pics for this page. I kept it simple and decided to cut my images close to the size of my photo mats. This way the pictures and images will help tell the story and not leave much need for journaling. I used the bright blue for her bow because when I used red it just seemed to fade away.

Use the Font feature keys challenge

Well, the challenge today is to use the Font feature keys, I have pictures from Disney of Emily on the carousel so, since I have the cartridge I decided to use it. The font is pretty neat but after cutting and realizing that it needs to be big to look it's best I ended up with one letter, the C. I used the Classic Cricut font for the rest of the letters in the word and the carousel itself is cut from the Carousel cartridge. I like how the word mimics the movement of the ride. I amaze myself sometimes with the creative touches I come up with. (hee hee)

Since a carousel is bright and colorful I made the page bright as well. I wish I had the 12 by 12 stack of the same papers I used for the C and the bigger mats. I have to head out to Joann's tomorrow to get new cutting mats, I think I'll have to check for this paper and maybe redo this layout. :) I can't remember the name, starts with an M I think.

The Letter "C"

Today's challenge is the letter C, we could do a number of things, such as, use a cartridge that began with the letter C, use a letter C on our project, use an image that began with a letter C or use a function key on the cartridge that begain with a C. I used the Cricut cartridges, Cindy Loo and Create a Critter. I've had this note book hanging around naked for sometime now, so it finally decided to get dressed.

The background paper is by Bobunny, super awesome company by the way. I measured the book, cut the paper then laid the cover on the paper and marked where the square holes were. I then used the marks as guides for my paper punch from Stampin' Up made for this very purpose. It worked perfectly!! I was super thrilled too! After getting the holes punched I applied the paper to the cover using mat decoupage medium.

Everything is cut from cream card stock, I printed everything on the imagine using the Imagine More cartridge. I really, really love my Imagine, this closeup shows the one flaw with printing and using decoupage medium over them. The colors run. I had to be extra careful and wash my brush quite often to keep from contaminating the whole project but I managed to still get some color in areas I didn't want it.

I used a foam dot to pop up my little lady bird's wing and had to add the google eyes. I think I like them a little too much. I probably have hundreds of them just waiting to be glued to something cute!

I'm not sure the background paper really goes with the love birds, but the book is cute anyway...at least I think so.

Florida Snowman

On Weds. and Thurs. our local library has story time for 0-5 year olds. I try to take Emily every week. This week we got to build snowmen! So very exciting. So after Miss Suzanne read us two stories and we sang and danced our fun songs out came the snowman building supplies!

As you can see, we got 3 marshmallows, a dollop of vanilla frosting, 3 pretzel sticks, a candy corn, a Hershey kiss, 2 raisins and 5 mini M& M's

I thought to myself, this kid is a pro! She's never been handed a plate of candy and told to build a snowman, she immediately picked up the stick and grabbed the frosting and started putting her man together!

Of course we had to have some quality control going on there! I helped her by putting the pretzel stick through all three marshmallows so her snowman would stand up. She shoved that candy corn in his face right where his nose should be and put his hat on, I can't believe the hat made it to his head because this girl is a choco-haulic!

The builder posing proudly by her masterpiece, note the frosting on her chin! I had to eat her raisins because the snowman had to have "ononge" eyes. I love how she says orange. Super cute.

And now, the really fun part!! Demolition!! Down he goes, "get in my belly"

YUMMO!! She had fun and believe it or not she still ate her lunch less than an hour later! :)

My first Valentine's day card of the year, I'm proud of myself, actually getting one done before February!

I also used the EK border punch of the stars and moons and the MS border punch, the bat fence, cutting the bats off :)

The extra hearts are from the heart on her chest, i just copied them and enlarged some.

Today I am using the sketch provided by Erica, this is from Page maps 2 by Becky Fleck. We were to make a Valentine's day page using this sketch.

I used the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge to add elements to my page, It's a little odd for Kitty to be in bed for a V-day sketch but, I am planning on putting Emily's Valentine gift in bed before she wakes up and will go in and take pics while she's sleeping and after she wakes up to get her reaction, so now that I've explained the layout here's how I made it. I turned to sketch to the right because my paper has a bicycle on the back and I wanted to be able to use it on the other page.

The paper is Bo bunny, I cut the paper at 4 inches and flipped the smaller piece over and put it back together with the scallop border strip. My goal for the future is to make my scrapbook pages a little lighter and not so thick, so I plan to utilize this technique more often, I also will use both sides of the pages instead of wasting, it will also take away from the thickness aspect.

I cut Kitty at 4 1/2 inches and placed her so the bed is off the page and trimmed the excess. The I love you is cut at 3 1/2. The colors aren't Valentine but they don't have to be pink and red, my daughter has so many pink pj's I didn't want the colors to blend with her outfit. I put stickles on the yellow circles and added some to the dots on the paper and did the same with purple as well. The little dots under the picture are stickles too

Above is a close up of Kitty, she is cut from pearly white paper, so pretty and you can see the stickles dots below the one photo mat. I couldn't get the purple to make nice dots :(

So I finally got a candy bar, thanks to the hubby who reminded me at the checkout line in Joann's (has to be the most pitiful purchase in my Joann's shopping history, a stuffed puppy for my daughter and an Hershey's chocolate bar-sigh)

I wrapped the paper around the bar then put it on my scoring surface for proper alignment. A little tricky with the glasses in the way but...its all done and super cute, only a few (wink wink) days late.

So, today is a fun challenge, it's would you ever guess Wednesday, the idea behind this is to use only the feature keys to create your project.

So I used the shadow feature key for the goose and the layer feature key for the cattails. I cut them at 2 different sizes. I then tore the water layers and tucked the cattails under. I felt it needed some framing so I added the tiny black strip to the bottom.

My retro fridge card! I am SO tickled with this card, I got rolled eyes from my husband and a shake of the head when he saw this one. I guess too corny for him, lol, he loves me anyway. So I used the From my kitchen cartridge on this one, the paper is just random stuff from my piles.

I merged two of the shadows on my gypsy then adhered all the layers to the front, the white pieces are from a pearly cardstock I found, super cute and yes, if you were wondering, tweezers were used to put them on the card.

Here is a screen shot of my gypsy so you can see how I laid it out, I cut it all at once, the chill worked out pretty good placing it on the card itself, that way when I placed the back piece on I just had to put the word in place and done! Well, I take that back I had to add some glitter.

Project #2

This cartridge was a Christmas gift so I couldn't wait to play with it! This is the Snow Angel Imagine cartridge and may I say, I have a new favorite, well a tie for favorite, Create a Critter is my original love. I used a gorgeous blue metallic paper for the background (explaining the horrible glare), cut my snow angel out at I believe it was 6 inches, the gloves at 3 and the snowflakes were also 3 I think, I was bad and didn't write the measurements down. I cut them using the layer option so I could piece them back together using pop dots, I love me some pot dots! The 2 snowflakes by the photo mat are cut in half so I only printed 3 of them. The Title, All bundled up, is cut from Ashlyn's alphabet, my favorite by far of the font cartridges. I added stickles to the title. The corners are a punch from EK success and there are bigger ones on the corners of the page but it blended in on the photo, sorry for the glare, I tried and tried but since the paper is metallic I just couldn't' get a perfect pic.

Project #3
Well, a post or so back, I attempted to make an adorable banner that said Welcome to the Franklins to hang on my entry way wall. I could not get it strung right so I cut it apart and decided to make a scrapbook page. So the birds are cut from Give a Hoot and the title is cut from George & basic shapes

I kept it simple, there are rhinestones for the birds eyes so I'm not sans bling.

Project #4

I used Give a hoot again and as we all know, projects don't always turn out like we see them in our head, (perfect example project above) but, sometimes it does!

This card started with finding a gift on my front porch from my Cardinal. I call him mine because he is the only bird that eats from my feeder outside my front window. So I was so excited to turn his gift into a perfect card. So in preparation for this hop, I was going through my Give a hoot handbook and saw the nest and the vision was born. On my gypsy I created a card by merging two of the base nest pieces, they started out around 4 1/2 inches. Then I cut a single base piece and the twigs piece all from kraft colored card stock. I cut another twigs piece from dark brown card stock.

The eggs are cut from plain white paper and sponged with caramel and chocolate chip ink (SU colors) I molded the eggs to give them a realistic egg shape, oh, I googled cardinal nests an d made the eggs look like they are supposed to. I sponged all the pieces with the chocolate chip ink then came assembly. Sorry to go on and on, but this is my self proclaimed masterpiece :)

My mother gave me the paper twine from something she bought and it works great! I really wanted to add some glitter but restrained myself. I kept it realistic and just added some trendy twine in yellow and green then tucked my precious gift in.

My dad made this for me, and it's wonderful. Word of advice, if you plan to make this it's about $150 and the supplies are way off, you need a lot more connectors than the guy says. But it's awesome!

Use Red, Brown or Pink

Well, sigh, I am posting feeling quite defeated, hoping I can figure this out because I really wanted this hanging on my entry wall. I cut the bird banner out from the Give a Hoot cartridge at 3 inches then cut multiple of the shift function to get the different colored birds. I cut enough so I could spell Welcome to the Franklins. So her lies the issue, as I started stringing it I realized that even with short pieces of twine between the birds it still sags horribly and looks terrible so before I wasted more of my precious pink twine I stopped.

And that's when my daughter returned, climbed on my chair, grabbed my box of gems and told me she needed a bird with pretty eyes and...yup, she was holding the top of the box and down it went. Thankfully I kind of caught it and it wasn't as horrible to clean up as expected. Then...

She told me she needed birds of her own, so I cut hers at 3 1/4 which by the way is the biggest you can cut this on a 12by12 sheet of paper, she got her own fancy eyes, (after I put them all back in the box) and I wrote her name on the front banners, an I heart U on the back of the banners, and the birds have eyes on the front and back. And just so you know, it lasted all of 5 minutes before she tore it to shreds. Ah, gotta love those monsters! Whatever makes her happy and keeps her out of my craft area for 5 minutes I will take.

Card Day-Use a cuttlebug embossing folder

Today I used my From my Kitchen Cricut Cartridge. I cut the toaster from page 33 with the shadow feature, cutting 2 of them at I think it was 5 1/2 inches, I used my gypsy so it's a little hard to get the exact size if you just use the machine, anyway, cut 2 then glue the sides and bottom together, leaving the top unglued. I the cut the rest of the layers using 2 different colors of yellow and then the cord I used a metallic for the plug ins and the matching yellow for the big part.

I used a pop dot to adhere the lever on the toaster. I used my owl embossing folder to make the top layer on the toaster more interesting then chalked some color on so it would stand out better. I ended up with a pretty cool 1970's circa toaster!

So on to the toast, I used the loaf of bread on page 64, I cut one at 3 inches and another at 5. To get the slice I cut the main image from dark brown and the layer image from cream. After gluing the cream to the dark brown I trimmed away the loaf to have just a single slice. Then I chalked the cream to make it look toasted and buttered, have to have lots of butter on my toast. I used pop dots to adhere the smaller slice to the toaster then wrote my message on the bigger slice. Then slid it inside the toaster. I placed a pop dot down inside close to the bottom to make it easier to get the toast in and out. I did this last to make sure of the placement with the toast.

This was a build a project from Creative Kuts, so much fun to put together. The card is pretty big, I wanted it to make a statement. The picture below shows the bonus file they sent after the card was completed, it's a candy bar wrapper. I just have to run out and get a candy bar, or two, gotta make sure one makes it home.

I used my tiny glue dots to adhere the champagne to the vellum glasses to mimic bubbles, I wish I had done it on the card...afterthoughts seem to always be better. I'll update with the wrapper in place.

I have the perfect pics for these pages, just have to get them printed. I used the file from Scrapping Bug designs to create these pages. It's a lot of pieces but so worth the time!

I used the main bear and shrank her down to make the teddy bear, I also used my moon and stars border punch on the photo mats and the corner punch that I call flower petals. I cut the hearts for the knobs on the dresser from the pull chain heart. I hope you like it.

This is one of the pics I will use on this layout, she rolled and rolled and got up and wondered around then finally wallowed and collapsed here. She's so cute, and growing too fast.

Here is my project....

My mom's favorite color is purple so I made her a purple gingy for her tree, she uses mostly purple ornaments so I wanted it to match. I used the Stretch your Imagination for this ornament and cut her at 6 inches.

I also made a card to go with the ornament, I used the Imagine more and my Imagine machine to cut the card and gingies. I added gem stones for the eyes, noses and buttons.

Here is my project

What kid (of any age) doesn't like cookies? So I made a card that looks like a plate of them. The card measures about 3 by 5. The cookies are cut at 2 inches. I added glitter to the gum drop buttons. The From my Kitchen cartridge is really a more versatile cartridge than I thought. There is so much on there that you don't have to be a cook or be making a recipe book to have it in your library.

I was having so much fun cutting the cookies for the card and ended up with extras after figuring out the proper size I decided to make a scrapbook page for the cookies I made for this season. I used the glorious Twine as little bows. It's a very simple page but will look great when I get pics of my cookies on there.

Here is my project....

This is my project for the candy projects. After searching I don't have anything candy in my cartridges so I made candies cherries. The glitter is the sugar on the cherry (a bit of a stretch but that's what art is right?)
Anyway, I hope you like it, I used the Imagine more cards and the Perserves cartridges. I put a white piece of paper on my mat and used the images from preserves and made the colors and patterns from the Imagine more cards. So much fun!

Here is my project....

I was going for a vintage look, the more I look though, I'm not sure I achieved what I saw in my head.

I printed the Ornaments from the Christmas cartridge in my gypsy and used the color fill option, I drew my hooks with a blue metalic pen so there would be the hint of the hooks like they are on the tree, not very visible. So there you have the short version of what I saw.

Here is my project....

I used some awsome purple glitter paper to make my Penguin's little belly. She's a designer penguin, up on all the latest fashion. ;)

The photo corners are a punch I used little pop dots to adhere the corners only so I can still put pics on the mats. I also adhered ICE with pop dots. My family is going to Gaylord Palms presentation of ICE tomorrow so I am making a layout to go with just a few of the many pictures I know I will take.

Here is my name plaque for the 25 days of Christmas Challenge that was an animal project using the Imagine. This is a Christmas present for a little man named Easton. In this pic nothing is glued down and I forgot to take a pic before sending it off. But it was all printed then cut with the Imagine, it's so cool to put a piece of white paper on the mat and put everything on from different cartridges and press one button and this comes out! So amazing. :) I love my Imagine.

Here is my project....

For my first project of the Erica's Craft Room "25 Days of Christmas" design team, the challenge was to make a Christmas Ornament, I made myself a Christmas Pickle. I've always wanted one of the beautiful blown glass pickles but they are always a bit expensive for me. So I finally had the means to make a beautiful one myself.

I found this gorgeous glass heart, it's about 4 inches. I poured some floor wax in and swirled it around, be sure to not shake it, bubbles are a bad thing here. After it's coated pour the remainder out of the ornament. No puddles. You then pour your glitter into the ornament then shake and shake and shake, you need to do this fast because the floor wax dries pretty fast.

Now for my adorable pickle. I used my amazing Cricut Imagine machine along with the Just Because Cards and Imagine More Cards cartridges. The pickle is cut at 3.2. I used the pattern and color from the Imagine cartridge. After I adheared the pickle to the ornament I added the dots of glitter for texture. Now, when friends are hunting for the pickle on my tree it will force them to look harder since it's on a heart!

The Christmas Pickle facts:

It is a quaint tradition that nobody wants to claim. And its story would not be the first tradition of Christmas born of a total fabrication. It is the little-known tradition of the Christmas pickle. The Christmas pickle is not really a pickle at all. It is a pickle-shaped ornament that is the last one hung on the tree on Christmas Eve. The first child to find the Christmas pickle gets an extra gift from Saint Nicholas. Or so the so-called legend goes. There are two other versions of the origins of the Christmas pickle. One is a family story of a Bavarian-born ancestor who fought in the American Civil War. A prisoner in poor health and starving, he begged a guard for just one pickle before he died. The guard took pity on him and found a pickle for him. The pickle by the grace of God gave him the mental and physical strength to live on. The other, perpetuated in Berrien Springs, MI, is a medieval tale of two Spanish boys traveling home from boarding school for the holidays. When they stopped at an inn for the night, the innkeeper, a mean and evil man, stuffed the boys into a pickle barrel. That evening, St. Nicholas stopped at the same inn, became aware of the boys' plight, tapped the pickle barrel with his staff, and the boys were magically freed. Berrien Springs calls itself the Christmas Pickle Capital of the World. They celebrate with an annual Christmas Pickle Festival held during the early part of December. A parade, led by the Grand Dillmeister who passes out fresh pickles along the parade route, is the featured event. You may even purchase the German glass pickle ornaments at the town’s museum. Rumor and speculation place the origin of this tradition in Germany. However few in modern-day Germany recognize or have even heard of the Christmas pickle. Some in West Germany blame generations of East Germans who may have had nothing more than pickles to decorate their Christmas trees with after World War II. But even families and historians in East Germany shrug at the mention of the Christmas pickle tradition. Regardless of where it came from, the Christmas tradition survives. Imagine projects

My husband bought me an Imagine for my 12 year anniversary gift. :) He's the best. All of my Cricut machines have been gifts from him, yet he gripes and complains about my "crafting" he calls it. I think he's just making noise because if he really didn't like it would he spend all this money on me?

Anyway, the photo above is the very first things I did with my gorgeous new machine!! I printed the background paper, title and cow. The photo mats are solid cardstock.

My beautiful Sister sent my daughter a HUGE box of clothes, shoes and toys so Emily helped me make this card for her. We picked out the designs and let the machine do the work! I really wish I had taken a picture of the inside. I gave Emily white paper and some colored pens and told her to tell Aunt Carla thank you for the clothes, shoes and toys. It's very sweet. My sister told me it's sitting in prominant view in her house and she shows everyone who comes in. :) THAT, my friends is why I craft! It's all about making someone's day!

I finally bit the bullet and did a craft show. I chose one close to home so I wouldn't be out much if I bombed.

It was an experience to say the least! Heat index over 100 degrees and 200 percent humidity made for a really long weekend. I didn't make alot of money but I'm ready to do another show, just never again in June! My purses are my favorite! They are so much fun.

Found a great new designer, she's got adorable cutting files and digital stamps; KaDoodle Bug designs The background from these pages were left overs after cutting out the stars for Emily's potty chart, love the fill design on my Expression, just hit one button, tell it what to cut and what size you want and boom, you've got a full page!

Here's the whole layout, I kept is simple so the designs and photos wouldn't get lost.

I've been working on this for almost a year. Had to restart it a few times. The butterflies are cut from a die cut, glittered on both sides, & strung with seed beads on each side.

I am so proud of myself. I made it from scratch, no pattern, just winged it. I am no seamstress, by any stretch but it does the job, it fits and looks half way decent. I even cut a hole in the back so the cords go through and the back is longer so the machine sits on the overhang and I can slip the top off and it hangs from the back, no worries of where to put it when I use my machine. Thanks for looking. :)

A card for my True Love. I used my new Gypsy (courtesy of said True Love) to weld 2 hearts together for the card, I then added the True love and heart to the center of a third heart. Let me tell you this machine is the bomb fuse to the cricut!! I can't imagine loving it more than I do! A silly layout for my silly monkey. Not sure of the pictures that will go

Our dancing Diva! She loves her hat and loves to dance! Our little mommy! She just loves her baby dolls, here she is taking one for a stroll, notice her purse hanging on the handle.

Emily's bow holder- my dad cut the board for me. I crafted some of the bows and added the ribbon hangers. Then it hung on Emily's wall as a white board for almost 6 months waiting for my mind to come up with the perfect design and the time to put it together.

My finished product, 6 months of waiting and thinking. I used my favorite Cricut cartridges, Ashlyn's Alphabet and Paisley. I crafted the decor to match the bedding Emily has. After I glued everything down I covered the whole board with glue and sprinkled crystal glitter for that extra bling every little girl needs.

I can't claim repsonsibility for this one, but I did put it together. I took a class from a wonderful local lady. She provided the patterns. The purse is a thin box that I put the seahorse cards in. The front is a real pocket with a hook and loop closure. The lipstick is an ink pen and the octogon beside it is a "compact" note pad. I just love this and plan to make many more for future gifts. The papers are Stampin Up, she used the George cartridge to cut the octogons for the compact and the Forever Young to cut the sunglasses. The pocket is a sizzix die.

Now for the cards, I just love iris folding, I bought the cutouts from a wonderful website, Dedra's Designs she sells the beautiful foil folding papers as well.

My first Christmas cards of the year, I am proud to say I started before November! Ha ha, don't tell anyone it's just a few days away!

I have 8 cards done, oh by the way, don't keep pop up foam dots for a really long time, you end up loosing one of the sticky sides, the liner won't come off. Oh well, that's what glue is for right?!

Sometimes saving scraps is a good thing. After cutting up all the sets for the stamp a stack class we had some random strips of the designer paper left over. Being as beautiful as it is I just couldn't bear to throw it out. So I started from the layers and worked my way out. I am pretty thrilled with them. I put some Flower Soft on one but think the others will be left naked.

I inked my white card base and the frame with platinum ink, I think it's my new favorite and the trees are stamped in Handsome Hunter.

Cooking with Cricut Design Team Challenge

I finally got a submission made for the Cooking with Cricut design team. I just love this step style card, it's a pop-up turned inside out! So much fun. I might have gone a little overboard but can you ever have too much candy?

The theme was not so spooky halloween. I love the decorations that are cute and fall. Forget the demonic scary stuff! NO THANK YOU! So using my super fun Doodle Charms Cricut cartridge, I went to cutting town. I cut my cute little pumpkins and added some chalk for dimension and stitch marks. They just had to have google eyes, they make everything better.

I have had this stamp forever! It's a Close to My Heart from the wood mounted days. I colored it with my copics and added some crystals randomly all over the card. The apples were chalked and I added white reflection marks with my gel pen to the candy.

I actually mailed this one! Alot of times I work so long and hard on something it gets filed away for my own collection. This time I am proud of myself for two reasons, getting it done in one afternoon and mailing it to my nephew who is going through training to be a Border Patrol agent.

Alrighty everyone, it's that time again!! It's our annual stamp a stack hosted by Barbara and myself!

We will be making these 4 fabulous cards, you will make 5 of each design.

We did all the hard work for you, designing and cutting everything out. You come, have some fun, assemble and color. We will have fun give aways and food. There will also be a used stamp sale, you are welcome to bring your stamps you no longer use and take home someone else's treasures!

She is growing up SO FAST, it doesn't seem possible that we are planning her first birthday party! I cleaned out her closet the other day and put all 9 months and 12 months sizes in. It made me very sad to put all those tiny clothes away. I was thrilled to see her cute tutu from Cousin Erin still fit. Such a cutie, and sweet baby!

She kept grabbing my bathing suit so I thought we would model it. She thought it was really funny and wouldn't stand still long enough for a really clear picture.

She has started using a sippy cup for water, juice and ice tea. She is starting to accept some table foods, still a slow process on that one. She spits stuff out or gags if there's much of a texture.

She is working on blowing kisses, waves her hand in front of her nose and says "shew" if we ask her if she stinks, she is a great dancer, she can throw a ball and loves Elmo.

Growing up too fast!

This is Paige our neighbor, I have been keeping her for a bit here and there when her mom and dad need some help. She is one month and three days older than Emily. She wasn't too happy being smacked in the head. Emily was just excited to have company. Notice where Emily is standing, she prefers to be on the outside of the walker and still refuses to go forward in it. She would rather go forward standing behind it and pushing it! Leave it to her to not follow the rules!! No she isn't in time out, but she should be!! We put the chair in the corner to eliminate a few opportunities for her to fall over in it. We figure if two sides are secured maybe she will only fall half the time! lol

She was very careful and calculated each of her movements before she followed through.

Oh, hi mom! Didn't know you were watching me! How did I do?

Yup, she got up in the chair and managed to turn around to sit properly all by herself!! She climbs on everything now, and is walking with support. She has taken 10 or 12 steps on her own but is still nervous to try it on her own very often.

Her newest bit of silliness is to stand and rock her head from side to side while singing or humming and tapping her right foot. It's a sight to see, so cute, I hope I can get it on video.

9 months already!!

Our beautiful girl is already 9 months old! She saw the doctor on her birthday and is 28 inches tall and weighs 17.10 pounds. She gained 2 inches and 2 pounds in 3 months.

She keeps us busy and laughing. Such a blessing, I wouldn't trade it for anything!! She crawls all over the place, pulls up on everything and we are pretty sure she will be walking very soon. Her doctor predicted in the next 4 to 6 weeks. We think it will be sooner.

She is already mischevious, as you can see from this face! She loves Precious the cat and is always trying to pet her. Unfortunately for "P" petting for Emily means grabbing a handful of fur and taking it with her!

She loves the pool. We want to get her swimming lessons but we are going to wait until she is walking pretty good so she can be taught to swim, instead of the survival techniques that have to be refreshed every year.

For now she is happy in her float with her toys!!

I am starting to think about her birthday, any suggestions? It will be here before we know it!

I have been working on bows for her. I am trying to make a bunch with the stash of ribbon I have. This one's a bit big, but still turned out pretty cute. There is a lady bug in the center of it.

She was a bit distracted during this shoot, Daddy commands too much attention. :)

She is pretty much crawling now. She isn't consistant with it but will get where she wants to go. She is starting to pull up and when I get her out of bed in the morning she is sitting up waiting for me now. She is really good at sitting up now, she will be crawling and just sit back or if she is laying down she rolls over and pushes herself back to sit. She is very smart and super funny, she keeps us entertained!

We went for a long walk down by the lake today. It doesn't show well, but that white behind her head is the water. We live near a huge beautiful lake. It was so nice to just walk and we stopped by the park and had fun on the swing. Showing off those new shoes. She had her 6 month check up yesterday, the doctor said she was advanced being able to sit so well. She weighs 15.3 pounds (she's lost some due to being sick) she is 26 inches tall and was so brave getting her shots. She only cried for a few seconds. Once I could pick her up she was fine. She is sweet and funny and working on crawling!

She is sitting up pretty good now with help. If she isn't sitting against something she folds in half pretty much with her little hands on each side of her feeet. She likes to stand up and will stiffen her legs to stand instead of sitting down. She is very strong. The doctor said she is in the 50th percentile for her weight and height. She is 13.7 pounds and 24 1/4 inches tall.

She is so good. Doesn't cry much, except when it's time to go to sleep and she doesnt' want to give in or if I take too long getting her bottle ready. Picnicing trying to eat an apple. She licked it like crazy and didn't want me to take it away. Daddy didn't mind the extra slobber too much.

Looking pretty in her new outfit. She got her shots today for her 4 month checkup. Her doctor said she looked like a clown in her outfit. Silly man.

Her Great Mamma and Great Aunt Lisa came to visit from Ohio and we got to play tourists. Epcot was so much fun. We also went to the Holy Land and to Blue Springs to see the Manatee. We had a wonderful week together. Just being beautiful. Her second cousins gave her this blanket along with a few others. It just happened to match her outfit she was wearing perfectly. Couldn't pass up the perfect photo opp.

Had to dress her for Christmas for her 3 month picture. I love how her toes are spread apart and she has that inquisative look on her face. Such a sweetie.

Absolutely adorable! She is growing so much it makes me sad and happy at the same time. She smiles and laughs with us. She loves to sit up and stand. She tries her hardest to sit when she is in her glider. It's a semi reclining position and she strains her head and feet up trying to sit upright. She will get it soon we are sure. She weighs about 12 pounds and is about 22 inches long. She is practicing sleeping through the night. We get a night or two of 10 to 12 hours then she wakes up in the middle of the night. It's a welcome change. I am enjoying the extra sleep.

What a life!! Kicking back chillin' Isn't she the cutest thing since kittens?! This is documenting her first shots. She wouldn't cooperate with the photo. Notice the huge bandaids on her thighs. She got 2 shots in her left leg and 1 in her right. She did really well that night, not too fussy and no fever. The shots were a different story at the time. She cried really hard and Daddy and I both were very traumatized. I showed it more than he did though.

New outfit from her Grandparents. Getting her ready for the cold weather if it ever gets here. We had a few days so far and she got to show this off to the ladies at my office. They all loved it. It's velour, so soft and cozy.

First trip to the beach

Emily and I went to Aunt Betty's with Mom and Dad to get her house opened up for her for the winter. We took some photos by the pool, this one is my favorite. She is just gorgeous!

We went to the beach Sunday morning. It wasn't hot so we took advantage of the beautiful weather. Emily fell asleep in the car on the way (a whole 10 minutes to the beach) and slept the whole time we were there. It was pretty windy so we put Dad's hat on her to keep the wind off her face.

She is growing more everyday. She is close to, if not already 10 pounds. She will be 7 weeks old on Weds. I can't believe it's almost 2 months already. It doesn't seem like it's been that long.

It cooled off for a few days here in the Sunshine state. We had to go to the grocery so I took advantage of the temperature to put Miss Emily in her cute cow outfit her Aunt Carla got for her. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever?! She is 6 weeks old today and last week weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces. She is doing really well and keeping us very entertained with her silly faces, and noises.

I left the outfit on her for bedtime because it was still chilly. Yesterday when it warmed up I decided to put a short sleeved outfit on her and when I took this outfit off she pitched a royal fit. She was so mad at me that Daddy had to take her to calm her down. Normally the crying starts when I put something over her head. The crying started when I took her arms out of the cow suit. I guess she was extremly comfortable and wasn't happy about her wardrobe change.

So, thanks Aunt Carla!! Pray for more cold weather so miss priss can wear her favorite outfit again.

Isn't she gorgeous!! She is such a blessing. I can't believe it's been a month already. We are tired and happy. It seems all very natural to care for her. It was meant to be and I wouldn't trade my life now for anything. Thank you Lord for the best gift of my life!

Born on 9-9-09 at 9:45 pm. She weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and is 19 inches long. She is perfect and sweet. Look how calm she is right after birth.

This was taken on Thursday.

I had a really rough time the last few weeks. I thought I had the flu and ended up with having pneumonia. I was transported to the ER via ambulance on Monday night (Labor Day) and diagnosed there with the pneumonia. I spent the next several days in a fog of pain killers and antibiotics. They assured us that the baby is fine with all the medication because she was so close to term. On Weds. my doctors discovered I had pre-eclampsia and we were told we were having a baby that day. They began enducing me and by the time I was 4 cm and had my epidural my liver was shutting down and they had to race me into the OR and to an emergency C-section. It was really scary but I was glad it was taken care of so fast. She was out and in Daddy's arms safe and sound.

Look at that beautiful face. Her skin is clear, she is alert and calm. She is such a good baby. She eats and sleeps and squeaks and squeals. I can't believe she is ours! We are truely blessed.

Sleeping Beauty!!This cracks me up. She is so small that newborn clothes are really big on her, but has big feet and hands, even with the big (looking) feet and hands those socks on her feet swallow them. If she kicks her leg hard enough they go flying off.

So on to our new adventure with Emily Grace Franklin!

We are 36 1/2 weeks already! We had our ultrasound last night to check her position and size. She is head down and weighs approximately 6 pounds 3 ounces. I will be going to the doctor each week now until she decides it's time to make her grand entrance! So next post might be the big news!!

I had no idea I was so loved!! Can you believe I was given 3 baby showers?! What great friends and family I have. We are truely blessed.

This is the cake believe it!! My good friend Barbara found a lady who does cakes to order and we told her we wanted a fairly realistic ladybug and she came through! It was a great day and great fun. We got so many great items.

This is the cake my 13 year old niece made for the Kentucky shower. Didn't she do a great job? I love it!

This was the cake the girls at work had for me. They threw me a baby shower on my birthday! What a great gift!

Emily's furniture arrived last Saturday while I was in Kentucky surprising my family for the baby shower they were having for me.

My mom and sister bought the bedding it's perfect! I just love it. Since these photos were taken Emily has gotten the rug that goes with the bedding and it's in front of the crib.

I am thrilled with the way the room looks. We just have to add some shelves and things to her walls and wait for her arrival! Less than 8 weeks to go!
