Dreamy owl

Do you have any crafting buddies who hamper your creativity?  Every once in a while my sweetie Anna needs to be with me.  She has gotten too big to hang out on my desk while I work though.

This is from the Give Thanks set from Dreaming Tree.  I won this one when it came out and I was so happy!! This owl is super amazing!! I just love him so much!

I've made 2 so far.  One with plain paper and this one with decorative paper.  This is the Enchanted stack from DCWV, I had it for several years and do not have many sheets left now but I love it and I think it worked perfectly for this project.

I am a big fan of paisley prints and the face panel and the green wing panel have them on it.
I really love the many layers of the wings.
Look at that face! I used regular vellum for his eyes and a piece of paper with gold embossing for his beak and the hanger piece.

Here's where he goes from cool to WOW.  I used a candle from The Dollar Tree that is color changing.

Here is my first owl I made.  I used some gold foil as Leo suggested and kept the colors fairly muted.
This is another stack from DCWV and I have to admit it wasn't easy to work with.  No liquid glue will hold the paper so I used hot glue.
I used yellow acetate for his eyes which looks pretty cool.

He doesn't glow quite as much since this paper is more dense and is solid core with the color going all the way through.

Check Dreaming Tree out, there are new Christmas tree ornaments now.  So many great ideas!
