Meljen's spider card

Meljen's Designs
I used the cute spider (yes, I said CUTE SPIDER) I normally loathe spiders but as long as it's a stamp or sticker and cute and not realistic, I'm game.
This little guy is in the dollar digi section, I suggest you browse through all the Halloween digis as well because they are all so very cute.
So, for this card, I printed the image right onto Kraft colored card stock then cut the paper to form my card base, it's a single layered card GASP!! I actually did it, I rarely make them like this but I really like the outcome of this one.  I enhanced the web with my glitter gel pen and could not get a good picture of it so take my word for it.  Then added some Halloween twine across the top.
I love my google eyes and added a black and orange ones to the inside with matching washi tape
Here's the fun on the front, I found some halloween nail stickers in the dollar bin and added a spider and the Happy Halloween one along with the black and orange eyes.

His eyes ran a little on me but I think that adds to the quirkiness of the card.  I added lots of white dots all over with my gel pen.
I hope you'll let me know what you think of my single layer card!

Altered Journal challenge

Today's challenge is to alter a journal or notebook.  Since back to school is here I took advantage of the great prices and bought some colored composition books.  It looks like sky and or water to me so I printed out a couple of  the cute summer digi's and turned my book into a fun beach day.

I think this would be great to send to school with one of the kids or even save it for next year and have them keep a summer journal.  Either way I love how it turned out and used some Yummy Puns from Joy's life stamps.
The cloud is cut from the new Artiste Cricut cartridge, the sand I tore by hand from some sand background paper.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will leave me some love.

Make sure you link up your projects with us over at http://www.cookingwithcricut.com/

This is a bitter sweet day for me. It's my last post for the Papercrafting world design team.  I have had a great time using the wonderful patterns and digital stamps Melinda creates and will continue to support her.
Thanks so much my friend, hugs!!

Doodle Pantry Digital Doodles Blog

Found this company recently and just fell in love!!
This image is too too cute so I had to make something fast!!

What's even better is this is one of the free images and comes with digital papers too.  That is what I used for the circles in the background.  I punched the phrase with my oval scallop punch then took a bite out of the image with the same punch.

I am entering this in their current challenge.

Whimsie Doodles designs

Current Monthly Challenge

Today I'm sharing a few projects I made with the adorable new to me images from Whimeis Doodles.  This little cute scrapper is just adorable.
I used my Copics to color her, still learning that wonderful art.  I just added some glitter glue to her tape gun and a few dots on the heart paper along with the beautiful green gems.

This cute little guy is ready for Halloween or just to make someone smile.  I have had this image for quite a while, I'm just getting into Digi's more a more.
I printed him on kraft card stock then used my colored pencils to color him.  I just used the pencils alone and didn't get out my blending fluid, I liked the simple look to this.  There is glitter glue on his wings.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll let me know what you think of my cards.

Taste of Summer hop hosted by Cooking with Cricut

Welcome! If you've just come across the hop, please go to http://www.cookingwithcricut.com/ to start at the beginning so you don't miss any of the fun.  If you've come from Natt's blog then you are in the right spot.
Summer is just about over, I have to admit, I'm tired of 100 degree days and ready for cooler weather.  Being in the Sunshine state it's been a HOT HOT summer.
Watermelon has always been a favorite treat for me.  I remember lots of evenings sitting on our front porch when I was a kid having seed spitting contests with my cousins and sister.
What says summer more than watermelon? I have such great memories sitting on the porch covered in watermelon juice and seeing who can spit their seeds farther!

Here is the link to this cute bear

Since this is a fairly simple card I added lots of glitter glue.  One of my most favorite embellishments.

Here's a view of the phrase I used inside, just perfect.

Thanks so much for stopping by,  head on over to Evelyn's to see what she's made.

Meljen's designs

click above if you want to go shop

Super cute images to be found here, I love this owl, I am an owl freak, any stamp I see I buy, I have Cricut cartridges just because they had a cute owl on them...but I rarely use them, don't know why
I printed this cutie on kraft card stock then used my Copics to color him.  I used my gel pens on the stars so they are a little shimmery.
I'm submitting this card for the current challenge
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/2012/08/challenge-123-tie-ribbon.html

My sister and her family (minus my nephew) were here for two week last month if you remember.  We played tourist family and went all over to many fun places.  I have had this bear for a while and LOVE him.  I am a huge fan of the Space program, wanted to be an astronaut.  I made a simple scrapbook page to lead into the pages for the rest of our trip.  The picture of all of us is the picture they take of everyone and you pay out the nose for...I added a brochure, bookmark and the admission ticket after I created a pocket using a postcard I bought.
The bear is colored using my Copics.
Thanks for looking, I hope you'll leave me some love.  I enjoy reading the comments.

My sister and her family will be here in July for a couple of weeks and I know we will be going to the beach.

Papercrafting world~Cooking with Cricut

This week the challenge is to make a project for wedding or anniversary.
I chose to use this sweet bear with her bouquet, stretching a bit, but isn't that what art is?
You are to also use dry embossing on your project. It's on there, I promise. This card kind of took over on its own as I worked.
Make sure to link up over at the blog
Thanks for your comments I really enjoy reading your feedback.
I used the glorious gemstone paper although most of it's covered up.  I made the image big to make a statement not thinking it covered up all the other paper, but I like how it turned out so it's worth it.
Below you can see I really did use dry embossing on my card.  I used my argyle embossing folder
I think this would be a sweet bridal shower card or even a thank you for a maid of honor.
Thanks for your comments I really enjoy reading your feedback.

School days at Papercrafting world! My little one isn't in school yet but when I saw this digital stamp I knew I wanted to make a cute page to go along with her.
Isn't she sweet? I added crystal effects to her glasses and to the apples.  The buttons are tied together with  some twine, it's green, blue and white, I love the three colors together.
Head over to the blog to link up your project.  And make sure to pick up this digital stamp, it's just adorable!

Papercrafting World 2 nd anniversary blog hop

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut's 2nd Blog-Aversary and our week long celebration! Each day for a whole week (May 19-26) we will be brining you fabulous projects made by our Design Team members. We have some GREAT blog candy as well as some daily file and graphic give-aways -- so you will definitely want to make PCW-CWC your daily stop every day this week!

Our theme for today is . . . Lace, bows and ruffles and this is what I created!

I am still learning to use my Copics properly but I am thrilled with how this turned out.  I cut the banner off then traced it onto kraft card stock then out lined it with the markers and re-assembled the pieces. I put everything on the card with foam squares.

Since today's theme is bows and ruffles I pulled out all my ribbon pieces and found some fun ones to use on this card.  I also used some yummy twine from Trendy Twine.
The little bow inside is what keeps the easel standing.  These cards are so fun and so easy.
Thanks for stopping by, make sure you head over  Cooking With Cricut to see what the rest of the design team has come up with.
Please leave me a comment, I love hearing your feedback, it helps keep the creativity flowing.

Papercrafting World

Paper Crafting World

Spring garden challenge.
Today's new challenge over at the Papercrafting world blog. My project is a super simple shaped card. I used the sweet little bird digi stamp.
I also used the shape cutters from Creative Memories I just aquired from a online yard sale. Super excited. To have them.
So I folded my purple card stock and cut the shape making sure to leave the fold in tact, then using the next smaller blade I cut the bird piece.
Added some sweet flowers and voila cute and sweet.

Also showing off the newest member of our family. My step daughters son. He's the sweetest little guy!! And his Aunty Emily loves him so much. Cracks me up she's an Aunt. She has a four year old niece and a 2 month old nephew and she's only 2 1/2! Gotta love blended families.

Head over to the blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with for your viewing and inspiration. Make sure to link up your project to play along.

Papercrafting World Spring Song challenge

Paper Crafting World
The challenge is to make a project using a spring song as your inspiration. I used "I never promised you a rose garden" not exactly a spring song but it talks about roses and I love roses.
And besides that this digi stamp jumped out at me.
I used the colored version just adding the yellow and dark purple with my copic markers.
The background is a piece of scrapbook paper, it's double sided do the inside already matches the outside. Easy peasy!
Can't have spring with out sparkle so I added some distressed stickles and regular stickles. The oval and heart are punches I've had for ages.
I hope you like it, she makes me smile.
Head over to the Papercrafting world blog to link up your spring song project.
