Christmas cards

Christmas is upon us, we got through Halloween, hopefully with out too many belly aches, I know we still have a big bowl of candy left, I guess it pays to be 3 and super cute, you get more candy! lol

I chose to use the Cheerful Seasons, Art Philosophy,  and A Quilted Christmas cartridges.

Only one more month to Christmas!! I am really looking forward to putting the tree up and getting out all of my decorations.  Christmas is my favorite time of year and I wish it lasted more than a month!

This card I used the Art Philosophy cartridge.
The Snowman image is from the Fiskars Fuse

This card is from A Quilted Christmas cartridge

I used liquid pearls and glitter glue to fill in the cat and add some dimension to the card

The Holly is cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge
I think this is my favorite card of them all, I love the holly and that small strip of polka dots. Super simple and very elegant I think.

This is another simple yet elegant card, I added pearls and gem stones to make it more fancy.
I love the Art Philosophy cartridge because you can created simple and fast cards that look amazing!

Christmas cards

The cartridges I used today are Quilted Christmas, Sentimental and Simply charmed

For my first project I used the Quilted Christmas to make a set of cards
When I cut my first card I noticed all the cut outs stayed in place perfectly on the mat.
Not wanting to waste the pieces I applied glue to them all quickly and put a piece of paper over the top and pressed in place...
While I let the glue sit and make sure it's really dry I moved on to my next card
I used green glitter paper and cut the card image from the candle function
I added glitter glue and gems to make the image pop and a red piece of paper behind on the inside.  It's finished off with a pretty bow.
And the glue dried on  my first piece so I trimmed and added it to a card base with some pretty ribbon.
This is the original card.  The paper inside the red card is the same as the front of the card above so they match.
Here is my trio of cards from Quilted Christmas
Since we have gone pink I wanted to make sure I keep with that, I used pink ink to stamp my name on the back. The pink didn't show on the red card so I stamped over it in green but it's still there.

This card is from the Sentimental cartridge.  I used my script embossing folder to add the layer to the front.  This card is backwards, the greeting is on the front and the decoration is on the inside, if you've been following me for a while you know I like to do things backwards and different a lot.
That's why I love making cards, you can do what ever you want!! :)
The mirror inside was hard to photograph but there is a mirror piece of paper in the center.  I added some pink and brown twine and the pink flower and gem center to keep with our pink theme this month.

This card is so fun, really makes me smile.  I used the Simply Charmed cartridge on this one and the new haunted house embossing folder (new to me)
I cut everything out at 3 inches and glued it in place.  I added black glitter glue to the bats in the sky and on the bat in the tree to accent his wings. There is yellow glitter glue on the moon as well.
Another easel card, I have to get at least one in on my posts :)
I've had the fence punch for quite a while, never used it.  So I was looking around trying to figure out what I'd use to hold the card open and haha! I thought, it's perfect!!
So I cut a 4 1/4 inch piece of black from the fence punch, scored the rails just above the base line and glued only that ticker piece down.  So when the card is opened you can stand the fence up and hold it open.
Makes me giggle, I love it!
There is a tiny orange gem for the door knob and the pink on this card is the gems on the bat's cheeks.

Imagine Monday

This is my favorite day, I love my Imagine machine.
I recently used my Cricut rewards points and joined the Cricut circle so I could get the Quilted Christmas cartridge.  I am in love with this cartridge!!
The cuts are gorgeous!
AND since it's only 3 months until Christmas, those of us who make our cards we better get started!
So I used the Snow angel Imagine cartridge to print the patterns and the Quilted Christmas for the cuts.
Very simple yet very stunning cards.  I played around with several different embellishments and finally decided to only trace the inner cuts with my glitter gel pen.
I love anything that has to do with Nativity scenes so I used 2 of the cards depicting it.
And for a fun card, I used the cool polar bear, there is a whole section of different animals with the cut outs, very Scandinavian I think.
I mounted Mr Bear on an action wobble, you can see him wiggle here.  I kept this card simple too by just adding a strip of black grosgrain ribbon across the top.
I think the patterns on these cards are so busy, simple is better.
Thanks for stopping by today,
