A mermaid's pearl

Hello there, today is my day to share for Connie Can Crop.
Our sponsor this month is Paper Nest Dolls.  I chose this beautiful image to work with and kept with our challenge theme of watercolor.

I printed her out on watercolor paper and painted her using my watercolor pencils and water brush.
After it was dry I let my cameo cut the shape for me.
I then added her to a fairly simple card using foam tape.

I embellished with some "beach glass" and some sea shell glitter buttons.

I painted her pearl with some shimmer paint, I couldn't get a good shot of the shine.

Connie Can Crop challenge time!!

Hello there!
It's August!! Where did July go?
This month's theme is watercolors and our sponsor is Paper Nest Dolls.
So, grab your paint brushes and get to painting!

Image may contain: ocean, water and text

No automatic alt text available.

I created my scene in my SIL program then printed it on watercolor paper.
I let it sit for 2 days, making sure the ink was really set (not sure how necessary this is, I didn't want to chance ruining my image)
I then used my water color pencils and my water brush to paint my sweet mermaid.

I use 2 techniques, I either take color directly from the pencil tip with the brush or I will color a little line on the paper then spread it with the brush.
I have a really hard time leaving white spaces even when I use markers or colored pencils, I'm working on it.

I found these beautiful buttons at Joann's, I love them so much!

Be sure to mark you calendar for our blog hop coming up on the 12th.
My project is meant to get you in the beach frame of mind.

Sweet snowmen

I'm using a sweet image from Paper Nest Dolls, that I colored digitally.
I love using different patterns for pieces like this.

Fun cards

I totally squealed out loud when I saw this file on a recent blog hop hosted by SVG Cutting files,
I have always loved Beaker. I couldn't wait to create a fun shaped card with him!

This was a free image offered by Paper Nest Dolls, I am a new fan of theirs, super cute images! I just love the faces of them!
I colored her with  my pencils and layered pattern paper from CTMH and glitter washi tape (are you proud of me for actually using some?)
Look at that sweet face!! I just love her!
